Video: Chychrun Bloodied After High-Stick to the Face from MacKinnon
In what looked like a total accident Colorado Avalanche forward Nathan MacKinnon and Arizona Coyotes' defenseman Jakob Chychrun collided at the blueline during the opening minute of the second period on Tuesday night and the collision left Chychrun a bloody mess.
As MacKinnon was falling his stick snapped back and smoked the 'Yotes' defenseman right in the face. You could see the immediate pain from Chychrun as the blood started to pour out.
Even though it was an accident, the refs called a four-minute high-sticking penalty on MacKinnon. You have to be responsible for your stick, but where's the call for either tripping or interference on Chychrun?
