Video: Oilers Chiasson Cross-Checked Leafs Vesey in the Side of the Head
The NHL has announced Edmonton Oilers forward Alex Chiasson will have a hearing with the league over his antics to end Monday's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. After time expired, Chiasson was seen cross-checking Leafs forward Jimmy Vesey in the side of the head.
Chiasson was assessed a five-minute major and a 10-minute misconduct on the play and is likely to be suspended for at least two games as he's a repeat offender and one of the dirtier players in the league.
The play wasn't originally called, and it took the Leafs players to get the referees attention to review it before they left the ice.
These two teams meet again on Wednesday as the Leafs have been without Auston Matthews the past two games and have used backup goalies both times, meanwhile the Oilers have yet to score a goal and lost both games.
No wonder Chiasson is pissed.

Here’s the crosscheck by Alex Chiasson on Vesey. Right to the side of the head as buzzer sounds. Hopefully a sign league and @NHLPlayerSafety has had enough with these https://t.co/dkdUn1FcW5
