Big Update on Maple Leafs goalie Frederik Andersen
The Toronto Maple Leafs are expected to have goaltender Frederik Andersen back in their lineup sometime before the playoffs. This according to Freddie Andersen himself as the netminder met with the media on Monday for the first time in over a month.

Says he's hoping to get into games before the playoffs @TSN_Edge
Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe recently admitted he was concerned about the team's goaltender and this news should certainly help calm his nerves. The team acquired David Rittich at the trade deadline from the Calgary Flames but that hasn't worked out so well since the deal. Backup turned starter Jack Campbell set an NHL record with his 11-game win streak but has been a touch consistent of late.
Andersen appeared in 23 games before his lower-body injury posting a 2.91 GAA and a .897 save %. He was recently seen roller blading through the Vancouver streets so there was speculation brewing he was getting back to full health.
Andersen, on the decision to stop playing: I reached the point where I just couldn't kind of feel confident in the net and pushing and stopping as hard as I needed to be aggressive. It was really hard to say stop. I think as a competitor you don’t want to admit or say stop.

On Monday Andersen spent over 90 minutes on the ice and you can expect to see him back between the Maple Leafs pipes sometime next week.
