Canucks J.T. Miller: 'I don't feel ready at all" as NHL ponders schedule restart post COVID-19 outbreak

If you ask J.T. Miller of the Vancouver Canucks he'll admit he's not ready to return to action after battling COVID-19 and quite frankly he's pretty pissed off that his team is being asked to play so soon. Miller delivered some candid comments about the whole situation and you certainly have to applaud the guy for standing up for himself and for his teammates.

Miller spoke with Thomas Drance of The Athletic and had this to say:

I don't feel ready at all. I hope people don't take this the wrong way, I'm a super competitive guy ... but this isn't about hockey for our team. This is about the health and safety of our players, their family, and their children. Even for me, sitting around and not doing much, my lungs are screaming. To be brutally honest, we're going to need more time than this to come back and play hockey. Even the guys that didn't get it aren't ready.

It's expected the league will make an announcement on Thursday regarding the rest of the Canucks' schedule. The team hasn't played since March 26 after as many as 21 players and four staff members tested positive for the virus. The Canucks currently site with a 16-18-3 record, but at this time that doesn't mean a thing. The only important piece of all this is the health and safety of everyone involved.

Let's hope the NHL gets it right.
