Colorado Avalanche Getting a Huge Boost on Friday
When the Colorado Avalanche take the ice on Friday night against the San Jose Sharks they will do so with some reinforcements in the lineup. The likes of netminder Philipp Grubauer, as well as forwards Mikko Rantanen and Joonas Donskoi will return to the lineup after landing on the COVID-19 protocol list.
Grubauer missed more than two weeks after testing positive for the virus. He'll be looking to get back to his top form as he's posted a 25-8-1 record, along with a .920 save % and a 2.00 GAA. The Avs had some untimley injuries last season with their goaltender in the playoffs and the hope is to get him back to 100% for game one of the first round. If Grubauer is back to top form, the Avs are a favorite to win the Stanley Cup.
Rantanen and Donskoi return to the lineup after missing four games each. Rantanen is one of the league's best scorers with 26 goals on the year. Donskoi is one of Colorado's secondary scorers and will be leaned on to chip in come playoff time.
The Avs have lost three in a row entering Friday's game and are looking to get back on track.
