Columbus Blue Jackets Goalie Embarrassed by his Team
The Columbus Blue Jackets eight game losing streak is starting to wear on the players and it appears none more than goaltender Elvis Merzlikins. The netminder spoke candidly after the team's latest loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning and didn't shy away from the struggle.
The Jackets lost 3-1 on Thursday and here's what Merzlikins had to say about it after the game:
I think we played good. Only thing, I'm tired. I'm tired of losing the game. I know we are trying but this is getting embarrassing. It's bothering me. I can't sleep. I don't want to get to, like Buffalo. I don't want to get to that point, like Buffalo. Even for them it was hard, but they got somehow through and they find a win. We have to find that way, too.

The Sabres had an 18-game losing streak and the 27-year-old goaltender doesn't want the Blue Jackets to get on that level of defeat. The team has seven games remaining, including a rematch with the powerhouse Lightning on Sunday.
The Blue Jackets sit near the bottom of the league standings and by the sounds of it head coach John Tortorella isn't welcomed back next season. Let's hope for Merzlikins sake, the team can find a way to get two points down the stretch here as nobody likes their sleep messed with for this long.
