DONE DEAL: Florida and Buffalo Make a Trade
The fire sale in Buffalo continues as the Sabres have moved defenseman Brandon Montour to the Florida Panthers in exchange for a third-round pick.
It may be a tough pill to swallow for Sabres fans as they acquired Montour originally for a first-round pick and a prospect. The Panthers were able to land him on the cheap as this season Montour has only managed 14 points in 38 games.
The 26-year-old heads to Florida to try and do his best to contribute and fill in some of Aaron Ekblad's minutes. The Panthers may not be done as they continue to look for ways to fill the massive void on their defense.
Worth noting is the fact the Sabres aren't retaining any of Montour's $3.85 million salary.
Brandon Montour, reportedly acquired by FLA, has been one of the league's worst defencemen in the past three seasons. His production has been decent but his underlying numbers have been brutal at both ends since before the Sabres traded for him. #FlaPanthers pic.twitter.com/hZRGNOHWbY
