Trade Alert: Edmonton and New Jersey Make a Deal
The Edmonton Oilers and New Jersey Devils are working on a trade that sees defenseman Dmitry Kulikov head to Edmonton in exchange for a conditional fourth-round draft pick.
Edmonton and NJ are discussing a trade that would sent Kulikov from the Devils to the Oilers for a conditional pick, but it’s not done yet.

The Oilers have been working the phones trying to find a veteran defenseman and appears they have landed on Kulikov. The 30-year-old rear guard isn't anything flashy but he's a defenseman that won't be noticed too much on the ice and is usually making the right play. In 38 games for the Devils this season, he's yet to score and has recorded two points.
The Oilers need him to come in, stay healthy, and make the first pass out of the defensive zone. They have the firepower up front to handle it all from there.
Oilers general manager Ken Holland is expected to be busy on Monday as his team will be heading to the playoffs and have a decent shot coming out of the North division. There's been some reports they tried to land Taylor Hall from Buffalo but that didn't work out and we'll have to wait and see if there's another Oilers move before the trade deadline on Monday.
For now, it's Kulikov, the newest member of the Edmonton Oilers.
