Edmonton Oilers Dealt Some Tough News
The Edmonton Oilers announced forward Zack Kassian is going to be out several weeks after suffering a lower-body injury during Wednesday's game against the Montreal Canadiens.
Kassian's durable is coming into question as the rugged winger plays a tough game but hasn't been able to stay healthy. He missed 17 games earlier this season due to a an upper-body injury. In 27 games he's appeared in this season, the 30-year-old has scored two goals and three assists but as we all know he doesn't get paid to produce points, he gets paid to be a physical force.
The Oilers have all but secured a playoff spot out of the North division but have been hit pretty hard lately with injuries. They are hoping Kassian could return for game one of the playoffs and you know he's going to do whatever he can to make sure he's dressed for the postseason.
Kassian ranks third on the team with 13.68 hits per minute and is logging just under 12 minutes of ice-time a night. The Oilers are hopeful this week-to-week injury won't be a long-term nagging ailment for their enforcer.
