Islanders and Devils Complete Blockbuster Deal
The New York Islanders have pulled off a blockbuster deal with the New Jersey Devils as Lou Lamoriello gets a jump on the trade market. The trade sees Travis Zajac and Kyle Palmieri head to the Islanders in exchange for forwards A.J Greer, Mason Jobst, a 1st-round pick in 2021 and a 4th-round pick in 2022.
The trade sees the Devils retain 50% of the salaries on both players.

Isles make SCF- 4th becomes 3rd in 2022 or 2023; New York has the option to decide on which of the 3rd round picks they transfer.
Palmieri has been linked to the Islanders all season as he's born on Long Island and both he and Zajac are very familiar to the Islanders given their rivalry. Palmieri has recorded eight goals and 17 points in 34 games so far this season and Zajac has tallied 18 points in 33 games.

Both players had to waive their no-trade protection to agree to the trade and now set the Islanders up with some serious forward depth after losing captain Anders Lee for the season.
