Jeff Carter Traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins
The Pittsburgh Penguins have sent a couple of draft picks to the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for center Jeff Carter. The veteran leaves a struggling Kings roster for a chance to win the Stanley Cup in Pittsburgh.

Brian Burke and Ron Hextall were able to pull of a trade even without basically any draft picks in 2021. They had to use picks from the next two seasons to get it done, but you have to give them credit for being able to pull of a trade with basically no resources left to them from former Penguins GM Jim Rutherford.
As for Carter, he joins his old pal Sidney Crosby and slots into the team's third-line center. In 40 games this season the 36-year-old has scored 19 points in 40 games. The Kings retained half of Carter's salary for the remainder of this season.
The Penguins don't have much left for moves or money, so this could be it for the team as we approach the 3pm trade today on Monday.
