The great news here is that his health appears to be improving according to Dreger so that's the first bit of positive information we have all received. Toews announced he was battling a mystery illness just before the season began and there's been a ton of unknowns ever since. Hopefully everything works out for him and his health and he'll be able to join his Blackhawks teammates next season.
The 32-year-old has played 943 career games, recording 815 points. He has two-years left on his contract, paying him $10.5 million per season. His Blackhawks teammates are currently fighting for a playoff spot, three points behind the 4th placed Nashville Predators with one game in hand.
Let's hope the Blackhawks can pull it off for their captain!
