Montreal Canadiens Provide Injury Update on Carey Price
The Montreal Canadiens have announced goaltender Carey Price is expected to miss at least a week due to concussion protocol. The netminder was clipped by Edmonton Oilers forward Alex Chiasson during the first period of Monday's game and did not return for the second period.
Jake Allen will carry the workload for the Habs as they hold their breath that Price isn't out long-term and can get passed this injury news. The Canadiens have a busy schedule coming up with four games before next Tuesday so it will be curious to see how they hold up without Price as an option.
The 33-year-old has enjoyed an up-and-down season so far, appearing in 25 games and recording a .901 save percentage. A far cry from his career high, the Canadiens need Price to get back to the old him if they are going to be successful these playoffs.
To note, Chiasson who has been questioned in the past over his play, was not penalized on the play.
