Red Wings Lose Bobby Ryan for the Season
The Detroit Red Wings will be without Bobby Ryan for the remainder of the season with an upper-body injury which means so will everyone else.
Ryan was linked to several teams who were interested in acquiring the pending free-agent who is having a decent season on a really bad team. In 33 appearances this season Ryan managed to record 14 points. The Pittsburgh Penguins, Edmonton Oilers, Colorado Avalanche and Boston Bruins were all thought to be interested in Ryan for their playoff runs but unfortunately that's not an option anymore.
Bobby Ryan, out for the season, is still a decent low-event bottom six winger and would've been a solid depth pickup. Sucks. #LGRW pic.twitter.com/DoNyfs49ox

Ryan is in his first season in Motown after signing a one-year deal for $1 million. From all accounts he's enjoyed his time and there's a very good chance you will see him re-sign with the Wings on another one-year deal this summer.
For now, he's going to rehab his injury and hope to be good to go come training camp for next season.
