It doesn't specify whether he already has an offer, or if he just wants to be free of commitment in order to explore his options. https://t.co/AopwqkhiHw
The recent KHL champion has played this back and forth game before so we're curious to see how this all plays out. 'Kovy' is now 38-years-old and last played in the NHL in 2019-2020. Kovalchuk spent this season with three different teams including the Los Angeles Kings, Montreal Canadiens and Washington Capitals.
The one-time best sniper in the NHL has appeared in 926 career NHL games, scoring 443 goals and 433 assists. The crazy part is he's only played 40 playoff games in the almost 20 seasons he's dressed.
Let's wait and see how this all plays out before we speculate where he's heading but according to some reports he's already talking to teams.
