Rumor: Kyle Palmieri to be Traded to the Carolina Hurricanes
The Carolina Hurricanes are reportedly trying to land a home-run trade and have been linked to the New Jersey Devils to acquire Kyle Palmieri.
Josh Gold-Smith of the Score sees Carolina as a potential landing spot for Palmieri and had this to say about the deal:
The 30-year-old pending UFA has a $4.65-million cap hit and an eight-team no-trade clause, but Carolina will have some wiggle room at the deadline and might be an appealing landing spot given its status as an up-and-coming playoff team.
Carolina boasts several promising prospects to dangle in trade talks, though Palmieri may not even command an elite young player or first-round pick considering his diminished 2021 production.
The Devils continue to have dialogue with several teams including the Boston Bruins, New York Islanders, Colorado Avalanche, Toronto Maple Leafs and the Edmonton Oilers. Palmieri remains one of the best names available on the trade market and after being held out for a second time on Tuesday night against the Buffalo Sabres, it's obvious a deal is coming soon.
To where, is anyone's guess at this point.
