Rumor: Mike Hoffman to be Traded to Montreal
According to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet the Montreal Canadiens have interest in acquiring Mike Hoffman from the St Louis Blues and have been in contact. Blues general manager Doug Armstrong came out earlier this week and mentioned he's willing to listen on his pending free-agents and Hoffman would certainly fetch a decent package.
Friedman at the intermission says the price is very high for Jaden Schwartz.

Friedman also wonders if Mike Hoffman could end up in Montreal, who pursued him in the offseason. #STLBlues
The Canadiens are expected to pull off at least one more deal after general manager Marc Bergevin acquired Eric Staal a couple of weeks ago. The sneaky GM fooled the media before the Staal deal as he tried to convince everyone he wasn't close to a trade, meanwhile roughly 24 hours later Staal was a Hab.
Mike Hoffman when asked what this last week's been like for him: "It's the NHL."

Can you elaborate: "It's part of the business that we work in. Those are the things that happen throughout a season. Sometimes you've got to deal with them." #stlblues
Hoffman signed in St Louis but it hasn't quite worked out for both sides. The 31-year-old is under contract for $4 million and bet on himself this season to have a good year and to land a long-term deal. It appears if he's going to do so now, Hoffman will have to impress his new team.
In 37 games for the Blues, Hoffman has recorded 23 points and can help a playoff contending team upgrade their top-six forwards and provide another sniper for their power-play.
