San Jose Head Coach Calls Out Two Players For Being 'Horrible'
San Jose Sharks head coach Bob Boughner called out both Timo Meier and Kevin Labanc after the team lost on Saturday to the Minnesota Wild. It didn't take long for the message to be received during the game as both players were demoted to the fourth-line after the first period.
After the game the message continued as Boughner didn't hold back his comments about what he saw from what's supposed to be two of his best players:
They were both horrible in the first period. They didn't deserve to play in the top six or the top nine for that matter. I just made the decision after the first period, if you're not ready to play, put both those guys on the same line and let them try to figured it out down there.
The Sharks ended up losing the game 5-2 after their 'horrible' start. While they may have been demoted both players played a decent amount with Labanc posting 17:34 of ice-time and Meier 13:29. Each player has 25 points and is tied for 5th on the team. That's going to change if they don't stop being horrible soon.
