Video: Mathew Barzal With Dirty Hit From Behind on Brendan Smith

The New York Islanders handled the New York Rangers on Thursday night but it wasn't without some controversy. Islanders forward Mathew Barzal delivered a questionable hit on Rangers defenseman Brendan Smith in the third period that's likely to be looked at by the NHL's Department of Player Safety.

The Isles were up 3-0 at the time and you can't blame Barzal for playing hard the whole 60 minutes, it's just Smith's back was turned the entire time and this was a dirty play.

Barzal has been in the news a lot lately as he was fined on Thursday for his second diving offense. Now this... Not the type of headlines you expect from the game-changing star.
