Video: Sidney Crosby Makes NHL History vs the New Jersey Devils
Newsflash Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby is pretty good at hockey. On Saturday against the New Jersey Devils, Crosby made more NHL history as he joined some elusive company recording his 16th season of a point per game production.
With his 55th point this season, Sidney Crosby has clinched the 16th point-per-game season of his career.

While it wasn't the flashiest of highlights they all count as Crosby notched his 55th point of the 2020-21 season with an empty net goal from 200 feet away from the net with .1 seconds left in the game. The Penguins would win the game 4-2 against the Devils and Crosby now joins Gordie Howe and Wayne Gretzky as the top three all-time with point per game seasons.
Sid also joined Gretzky as the only players in NHL history to start their careers with 16-plus consecutive point per game seasons.
His head coach Mike Sullivan had this to say after the game about #87:
He's a generational talent ... he’s in such elite company. He’s building a real compelling argument for being one of the greatest players of all time. We believe he is, but with each milestone he reaches it just provides hard evidence.
Here's the historic point from the NHL's most underpaid player:
