Washington Capitals Sign Conor Sheary to Contract Extension
The Washington Capitals have announced the team has signed forward Conor Sheary to a two-year contract extension that sees the winger paid $1.5 million per season on the cap.
The 28-year-old was rewarded for his fine efforts this season as he's tallied 11 goals and eight assists in 40 games so far this campaign. Considering he's only playing 13:09 of ice-time a night, he's been very productive in the limited role.

Sheary is one of the smaller forwards in the NHL as he's listed at 5'8 and 179 pounds, but he's not afraid to get into the dirty areas of the ice and has the hockey IQ to outsmart his opponents. The two-time Stanley Cup champion with the Pittsburgh Penguins is someone the Capitals have been familiar with for a long time.
His contract extension is essentially a 100% raise for Sheary as he was making $735,000 on the cap this season. Great to see him rewarded for his efforts this season as the Caps are hoping he can continue to provide some secondary scoring for the playoffs.
