Alex Ovechkin Provides Update on His Future in Washington
The Washington Capitals were the second team to be eliminated from the 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs after not being able to handle the Boston Bruins. The team has a ton of question marks heading into next season including the contract status of their franchise player, Alex Ovechkin.
OV recently spoke to the media and provided some news that all Caps fans are going to love to hear:
Alex Ovechkin on contract talks: “I’m confident. We still have time. Obviously I want to finish my career here.”

You can put any of the Ovechkin to any other team rumors to bed and he's likely going to sign for three more seasons and then finish off at least one season in Russia to end his professional career. Ovechkin's Capitals' teammates on the other hand may be changing as rumblings have surfaced regarding the future of Evgeny Kuznetsov who apparently is on very bad terms with team management. Expect to see a trade this offseason and one potential name to look for is Jack Eichel.
Eichel and OV - could you imagine!?
"Maybe we'll sign a contract right now." 😂
