Blues' Ryan O'Reilly: 'We're Going to Beat' Avalanche

Nathan MacKinnon and the Colorado Avalanche have themselves some bulletin board material as St Louis Blues captain Ryan O'Reilly met with the media on Friday and was quoted saying he knows the Blues can beat the Avalanche.

While he stayed away from the 'Messier guarantee', he was as confident as ever as he discussed his team's chances. The Blues are going to be a tough team to beat, no doubt, but the Avs appear to be playing on another level this season and finally have some healthy goaltending.

As for O'Reilly, he mentioned:

It's exciting for us. We know we can beat this team and do some damage here. We know that they have a lot of talent over there and they work hard, but for us, it's an exciting challenge, We're going have some fun and we're going to beat them.

The Avalanche won five of the eight meetings between the clubs during the regular season, though St. Louis won the last two, both on home ice. Game 1 goes Monday night in Denver.
