Calgary Flames Sean Monahan Headed for Surgery
The Calgary Flames announced forward Sean Monahan will not play in any of the remaining four games of the season as he's due to have hip surgery. Good news is he's expected to be recovered in time to be present the first day of training camp next season.
The Flames are an interesting team to watch this offseason as some roster changes are expected and trades should be on their way. Monahan, along with Johnny Gaudreau and Noah Hanifin have been rumored to be discussed. There's also the Seattle expansion draft to worry about too as the team may expose captain Mark Giordano. Could see some new faces in Calgary next season, that's for sure.
As for Monahan, this season was an up an down campaign to say the least. The 26-year-old appeared in 50 games, recording only 28 points, which stacks up as one of his worst seasons of his career. However in his 30 career playoff games, he's tallied 21 points, so there's no doubt he's capable of being productive when it matters most.
