Canadiens Price and Gallagher Headed to the AHL

The Montreal Canadiens are getting ready for game one of the Stanley Cup Playoffs on Thursday night against the Toronto Maple Leafs and before the puck drops, a couple of their key pieces are getting in some light work. Goaltender Carey Price and forward Brendan Gallagher have been loaned to the AHL's Laval Rocket, and will appear in a game on Monday night. The best part, they are playing the Toronto Marlies, and wouldn't it be something if something crazy happened.... paging Rich Clune.

The two will need to be at the top of their game if the Canadiens stand a chance against the Maple Leafs and will use Monday night's AHL season finale to get primed up from injury. Price has battled a lower-body injury and concussion problems this season, meanwhile Gallagher broke his thumb back on April 5th after his teammates shot hit him in the hand. The winger missed 21 games, meanwhile Price hasn't played since April 19.

Both are expected to be back in the NHL lineup on Thursday as the Habs/Leafs showdown is set to begin, over 40 years in the making.
