Dallas Stars Forward Headed For Surgery

Dallas Stars center Roope Hintz is scheduled to have surgery next week in New York as the groin injury that he battled all season resulted in an 'avulsion injury' to the left adductor tendon.

Stars general manager Jim Nill explained Hintz was grinding an NHL with a small chunk of bone attached to the adductor pulling away where the tendon attaches to the pelvis area. Sounds just wonderful...

Dallas battled injuries to some big names all season including only enjoying a brief appearance from star center Tyler Seguin, who was out after undergoing hip and knee surgery and not to forget goaltender Ben Bishop who never played a game after undergoing two knee surgeries.

Hintz in the meantime is expected to miss roughly four months of action. Which puts him on pace to be ready for training camp in September. And considering the injury and the production of 43 points in 41 games, nobody should ever be questioning Hintz' toughness. He'll look to carry on the momentum into next season, all patched up. The Stars hope next season the team can stay healthy and get back into contention in the Western Conference.
