Hurricanes Head Coach Blames The Refs For Game 3 Loss
Carolina Hurricanes head coach Rod Brind'Amour called out the officiating after Game 3. The bench boss felt his team had to fight the refs the entire game and was not happy.
Nashville is a phenomenal team, but we're also fighting the refs, that's plain and simple. You can't tell me two games in a row they get seven or eight penalties and we get three? When the game is this even? It's not right. I give my guys a ton of credit for just sticking in, going and playing their butts off, and having a good chance to win. Two overtimes, you know, a knick-knack penalty when there was stuff going on all over. It just flipped the momentum and they scored the next shift after because we're out of rotation. That's not how it should go.
Game 4 is scheduled for Sunday as the Hurricanes hold a 2-1 series lead. Regardless of his team being ahead, Brind'Amour is never shy to voice his displeasure. He's one of the best head coaches in the NHL and sticking up for his team is at the top of his priority list. The Canes have been called for 14 penalties to the Predators six. Can't blame him for speaking up.
