Maple Leafs Dealt Huge Injury Blow Ahead of Game 7
Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe announced on Monday that defenseman Jake Muzzin will be out of the lineup for a minimum of three weeks after suffering a groin injury during Game 6 against the Montreal Canadiens.
Travis Dermott is expected to draw back in the lineup on Monday, along with Rasmus Sandin. The Leafs will lose out on some of Muzzin's physical play and steady defending, as this is certainly a tough blow for the team as they prepare for Game 7.
The 32-year-old Muzzin has led the team's defense in ice-time this postseason and has contributed two goals and one assist through the first six games. He's also added 16 hits along with 11 blocked shots. There's no denying he's been the Leafs best all around defender.
