Montreal Canadiens Make Lineup Changes Ahead of Game 3
When the Montreal Canadiens set their lineup for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, many people were wondering what the coach was thinking. Now changes are coming and young star Cole Caufield will play in his first game on Monday night against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Caufield had legend status in the NCAA, winning many major awards and scoring at will. His four goals and one assist in 10 regular season games were impressive and the Habs are hoping for much of the same this postseason. The 20-year-old skated on a line with Nick Suzuki and Joel Armia in Game 3.
The Hobey Baker Award winner as the top men's collegiate player will get his first taste of the postseason and there's no doubt he's ready for the big stage:
I was put in here to help the team win and do the things that I can to increase our chances. I'm obviously excited. It's going to be a pretty special night.
Eric Staal who hasn't done much since arriving in Montreal, will be wearing a suit Monday night. The Leafs and Canadiens are tied at one game each, as the series shifts to La Belle province.
