New York Rangers Fire Head Coach and Several Assistants
The New York Rangers continue to make big changes as they have announced head coach David Quinn and multiple assistant coaches including Jacques Martin, Greg Brown and David Oliver have been fired.
Chris Drury gets to work early in his new position as President and General Manager and it comes at no surprise he'd like to hire 'his guy' behind the bench. Team owner James Dolan wanted to make massive changes to the culture of the organization and that's certainly begun.
Back in 2018 the club issued a letter to the fans out-lining a plan for a full-scale rebuild and signed Quinn to a five-year deal. They then added some high-end expensive talent in Artemi Panarin and have several top draft picks. This season they finished in fifth place in the East division which obviously to ownership wasn't good enough. Their 27-23-6 record has them sitting 15th overall in league standings.
Look for the Rangers to make a splash this offseason with a blockbuster trade. If it's not Jack Eichel it's certainly going to have the flash of a superstar name. One player you can cross off the list is Tom Wilson.
