Penguins Fans Blaming Tristan Jarry For Playoff Elimination
The Pittsburgh Penguins were eliminated in six games against the New York Islanders these Stanley Cup Playoffs and if you ask their fans, sounds like goaltender Tristan Jarry is to blame. The young netminder made a couple of huge mistakes throughout the series and let in roughly 85% of his goals to his glove side. Turns out Pens fans think they may need another option next season.
Jarry had an inconsistent regular season but was playing much better heading into the playoffs. Unfortunately his strong play didn't continue in the playoffs as he posted a 3.18GAA and a .888 save %. It's the same old story for these Penguins as they haven't received strong goaltender in the playoffs since their Cup run in 2017, posting under a .890 save% over the course of four Stanley Cup Playoffs. This year it was Jarry's turn to hand in a sub-par performance. Here's what the #HockeyTwitter world had to say about the 26-year-old:
It is absolutely stunning how much Tristan Jarry sucks. He is the wettest puddle that has ever existed

i cannot stress this enough. the islanders do not own the penguins, the islanders are not better than the penguins. the islanders own tristan jarry and the islanders are better than tristan jarry. thats it. thats the tweet.

i am the complete opposite of a goalie basher, but tristan jarry has simply lost this series for the penguins. there’s no other way to put it

That whole series can be summed up with one phrase. "Gloveside Tristan Jarry"
