Sam Reinhart Finished with the Buffalo Sabres

The Buffalo Sabres management team has some work to do as they found out during their exit interviews that forward Sam Reinhart prefers to play elsewhere. This comes after the news dropped on Monday regarding Jack Eichel and Rasmus Ristolainen.

The 25-year-old Reinhart is a restricted free-agent this offseason which is appealing for other teams because of the team control involved. They know they would be getting Reinhart for at least two more seasons and likely longer as it's expected he gets moved and then signs a long-term extension with his new club. This season he was a bright spot for a real bad Sabres squad, scoring 25 times and collecting 40 points in 54 games. It was Reinhart's seventh season in Buffalo and appears it will be his last.

The former first-round pick second overall, made just over $5 million this season and his next deal is likely to start with a six. There's going to be a ton of teams interested including all of the Western Canadian teams, where he and his family are from. Also look for teams in transition to try and swipe Reinhart from Sabres general manager Kevyn Adams, as given his age and his skill set, he's someone the Anaheim Ducks or San Jose Sharks can build around for their re-tooling.

Sorry Sabres fan, at least the Bills are doing good.
