Seattle Kraken Sign Their First Player!
Ladies and gentlemen we have some NHL history out of Seattle, as the Kraken have signed free-agent center Luke Henman to a three-year entry-level deal on Wednesday.
This is the team's first ever player acquisition. Henman is a 21-year-old who was a former fourth-round pick of the Carolina Hurricanes back in 2018. He's spent the last four seasons playing for the QMJHL's Blainville-Boisbriand Armanda.
Kraken general manager Ron Francis on Wednesday and had this to say:
Luke is a smart, skilled player with strong leadership qualities. “He brings solid character, which this organization values, and we look forward to working with him as he continues his development.
Last season Henman recorded 16 goals and 27 assists in 32 games for the Armada. He was over a point a game for his junior career and has certainly shown he can score on the junior level. If that can translate to success at the pro level is the real question here.
Regardless, the Kraken get crackin' :)
