Trade Rumor: Philadelphia Flyers Moving On From Former Top-Pick

The Philadelphia Flyers are expected to make some changes this offseason and one name to watch out for is former top-prospect Nolan Patrick.

Patrick has battled concussion issues early on in his career and this season, while his production wasn't where he or the team would like it, he was able to play in over 50 games, which was a positive sign moving forward. In the 52 games he played in, the 22-year-old scored four times and recorded nine points.

Patrick has once again changed his agent, so there's belief that his new rep is expected to recommend a change of scenery for his client out of Philly. With 31 points as his career high and health concerns, it may be difficult for the Flyers to receive fair value for the former 2nd overall pick. Patrick still has upside and perhaps the two sides can work it out for one more audition next season.

Teams that would be interested in trading for Patrick include the Columbus Blue Jackets, Minnesota Wild, and Anaheim Ducks. Both the Wild and Ducks would have a leg up as the Flyers will have limited interest trading him within the Eastern Conference. If they end up moving him somewhere in the East, expect the team to pay a premium.
