Video: Connor McDavid Reaches 100 Points in 53 Games!

Edmonton Oilers superstar Connor McDavid has made some NHL history as he reached 100 points on Saturday night against the Vancouver Canucks, in what was his 53rd game of the season.

McDavid has been on an absolute tear this season and has visibly taken his game to another level. So much so his peers have noticed and so have some of the all-time greats as folks like Wayne Gretzky have been talking about him for weeks. McDavid has now totaled four or more points in seven games this season and now leads the Art Ross battle by 21 points.

The Oilers superstar is averaging 1.88 points per game, which is the highest mark in the NHL since the 1995-96 season when Mario Lemieux put up 2.30 points per game. If this season was an 82-game schedule, McDavid would be on pace for 155 points. The number 1.88 per game is astounding because if McDavid finishes with at least 1.88 ppg, he'll join Mario, Adam Oates, Bernie Nicholls, Steve Yzerman, Phil Esposito and Gretzky as the only players to ever average this many points per game.
