Video: Flyers' Gostisbehere With Brutal Cheap Shot on Penguins' Friedman
The Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers are sick of each other and on Tuesday night it certainly showed. The game was as heated as ever and the intensity rivaled a playoff game. While the game was filled with scrums and fights, nothing was more controversial than Flyers defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere cross-checking Penguins defenseman Mark Friedman into the boards after he scored on the empty net.
Friedman is an ex-Flyer and was busy fighting earlier in the game but still, his actions didn't warrant this type of response. Gostisbehere caught up to him after he scored on the empty net and sent him flying into the boards.
The Flyers defenseman has a hearing with the league on Wednesday and is expected to be suspended for his actions. Take a look:
