Video: Jordan Binnington Tried to Fight Philipp Grubauer Post-Game
The St Louis Blues and Colorado Avalanche played one of the most intense hockey games you will ever see on Monday night as game one was a battle for the ages. The Avs won 4-1 to take an early series lead, but the talk of the game was Blues' netminder Jordan Binnington. Not only did he stand on his head throughout the entire game, he lost his cool at the end and tried to get after Avs goalie Philipp Grubauer.
Binnington was not happy as chaos ensued to end the game and didn't like what he saw from the Avalanche goalie teeing off some blockers on Blues players. Binnington was held back by the linesman, as this story line will continue into next game and the rest of the series. 'Binner' is known to have a short fuse and now watch and see if the Avs try to use this to their advantage.
Expect to see Avalanche forwards buzzing around the crease the rest of the series as they try to throw Binnington off his game. As for game one, the Richmond Hill, Ontario native made 46 saves and kept the Blues from getting blown out.
Here's the end of the game as it was absolute mayhem:
