Video: Nathan MacKinnon Fights Kevin Lebanc In Heated Scrap

Nathan MacKinnon of the Colorado Avalanche is known to have a bad temper and a fiery competitive spirit. The two wires crossed on Friday night after his teammate Samuel Girard was hit into the boards by San Jose Sharks forward Kevin Lebanc.

The play happened half way through the third period as the Avs were up 2-0. Girard was heading back behind his own net to retrieve the puck and Labanc came in hard and ended up tripping him up. Girard went head/shoulder first into the boards and then all hell broke loose. MacKinnon didn't think twice sticking up for his teammate as he dropped his gloves and got right in there.
