Video: Suspension Likely as Pat Maroon Escapes Linesman, Punches Brandon Montour

Brandon Montour of the Florida Panthers has been fined $5000 for his spear to the groin of Tampa Bay Lightning forward Pat Maroon. While the two were skating to the penalty box, Montour kept egging Maroon on, resulting in the Lightning forward escaping the hands of the linesman to make his way back to Montour to punch him in the face.

The league has announced Maroon will have a hearing for his actions, which could result in a one-game suspension. Can you blame, Maroon? Probably not, but none the less the league doesn't want players fighting their way out of the linesmen's grip.

This Panthers and Lightning game on Saturday had a flurry of scrums, fights and questionable stick infractions. You can see Montour yelling 'Fat Pat' at Maroon, as he may have received exactly what he deserved.
