Winnipeg Jets Head Coach Provides Update On Star Forwards
The Winnipeg Jets are gearing up for the opening round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs and are likely to have some new faces in the lineup. The team is set to take on the Edmonton Oilers and it appears they will be doing so without forwards Nik Ehlers and Pierre-Luc Dubois.
#NHLJets HC Paul Maurice says that both Nikolaj Ehlers and Pierre-Luc Dubois will be on the trip and he’s calling them “game-time decisions” then added they would more likely be “game-time announcements.” Personally, I would put both players in the “doubtful” category for Game 1.

Both players are a huge part of the Jets top-six forward group and the team is going to need their depth in the lineup. Ehlers has been lights out this entire season, scoring 46 points in 47 games. While his production has slipped in the past come playoff time, the team is confident he will be able to find his groove during postseason play. Unfortunately it appears at this time, he won't be available for Game 1.
As for Dubois, it's been a rocky start to his Jets career, dating back to the trade from the Columbus Blue Jackets. With quarantine, injuries and everything in between, Dubois has showed flashes of brilliance, leaving an appetite for more production from his head coach. The 22-year-old finished with 20 points in 41 games with the Jets this season and has been a force come playoff time. Dubois has produced 19 points in 26 playoff games so far in his early career, and the Jets are hopeful he will be ready for Game 2.
