2 Teams Who Should Sign Kyle Palmieri If The Islanders Let Him Walk

After being traded to the New York Islanders, Kyle Palmieri struggled immensely. In 17 regular season games with the team, he only scored two goals and registered four points. This low of production initially made losing a first-round pick for him disappointing for the Islanders. Yet, he turned it back on at the right time, as he had a great playoff run with the team. This was especially the case when it came to his goal scoring, as he had seven goals in 19 games.

Although the Islanders would love to keep him, it will be quite difficult with their salary cap situation. They also have bigger priorities in Anthony Beauvillier and Ilya Sorokin to attend to. Thus, there is a real chance Palmieri will be testing the free agent market.

These two teams should be calling him if he remains unsigned by the start of free agency.

Arizona Coyotes

The Arizona Coyotes have a ton of cap space to work with this summer. This is because a significant portion of the roster has expired contracts. With this year being another poor one for them, they should look to revamp their team via free agency. Palmieri would be a good starting point.

Signing Palmieri would give them a true top-six winger, which is a real necessity for them. Also, with the Coyotes having a lot of younger players like Clayton Keller and Jakob Chychrun making up their core, they could use another veteran to help with leadership.

Boston Bruins

The Boston Bruins felt Palmieri's impact firsthand in the postseason, as he had many clutch goals against them. There is a real possibility that they are moving Jake DeBrusk, so signing Palmieri as his replacement could be fantastic. He would instantly be able to take over his right wing spot in the lineup.

The Bruins are hoping to win one more Stanley Cup with their aging core, but that will not happen if they do not upgrade their middle-six. Palmieri is the type of player they should be calling to help with this.
