2 Teams Who Should Sign Tomas Tatar This Summer

The Montreal Canadiens are currently in the Stanley Cup Final and it's been nothing short of a magical run for them. However, Tomas Tatar has been a notable healthy scratch throughout most of the postseason. Although the move has worked out for Montreal, it is still shocking to see. Tatar has been an important player for the Canadiens over the last few seasons.

This was especially the case during the 2019-20 season, as he scored 22 goals and registered 61 points in just 68 games. This kind of production shows that he can be a true top-six winger in the NHL. This year was a bit of a down year for him statistically, but even with this being so, he should get a lot of attention as a free agent. It is clear that his time in Montreal is certainly over.

These two teams could be great fits for the 30-year-old forward.

New Jersey Devils

Tatar will be looking to rebound next season, so the New Jersey Devils could be a good home for him. Playing for a team like the Devils will allow him to have a prominent role, as they are a bit weak at left wing. He would also have the chance to play along side either Nico Hischier or Jack Hughes. This would give him a lot of chances to succeed offensively.

San Jose Sharks

The San Jose Sharks are against the idea of rebuilding, but their roster needs serious work. They do not have the money to bring in a superstar player, but they could easily afford Tatar. This would help strengthen their top-six, which is a real necessity if they hope to be competitive next season. It seems like a low-risk, high-reward kind of move for San Jose, so there is no real reason not to give it a try.

Wherever Tatar signs, though, it would just be great to see him find his game again.
