Canadiens Suzuki Wants to Prove His GM is a Genius
Montreal Canadiens forward Nick Suzuki is blossoming into one of the best young centers in the NHL and he's on a mission to prove that his general manager Marc Bergevin, made the right decision to acquire him from the Vegas Golden Knights.
The trade saw Suzuki head to the Habs, in exchange for Max Pacioretty, who he will be lining up against as the Canadiens get set to battle it out with the Vegas Golden Knights. Here's what Suzuki had to say to the media on Friday:
I think it worked out for both teams obviously. When Marc called me and said I was a big piece that they wanted I just wanted to show that Montreal made the right decision in bringing me over and I want to do everything I can for this franchise. It was more about proving Marc right to want me in the deal.
Both players are playing massive roles for their teams and it's going to be interesting to see who comes out on top. The trade also included Tomas Tatar who has been solid since day one in Montreal.
While it's hard to judge who wins a trade right away, this is the perfect chance to evaluate this transaction. If the Habs win the series, they won the trade. Max Pacioretty and the Golden Knights are going to have other ideas.
