Carolina Hurricanes Fear The Worst With Vincent Trocheck Injury
The Carolina Hurricanes find themselves in a dog fight against the Tampa Bay Lighting and by the looks of things may have to move forward without one of their best players. Forward Vincent Trocheck sustained an injury during Game 2, and his head coach Rod Brind'Amour didn't like the looks of things.
Doesn't look good. I don't know the extent of it at this point but, obviously, he couldn't continue. You know he would have come back and played if he could.
The play happened during the second period when Trocheck collided with teammate Warren Foegele and appeared to go knee-on-knee and skate-to-skate in the friendly fire. The team is already without winger Nino Niederreiter, and if they aren't at full compliment it's going to be hard for the Hurricanes to win a game against the defending Stanley Cup Champions.
After returning for the start of the third, Vincent Trocheck has gone back to the Canes' locker room.

As for Trocheck, he's bounced back in a big way in Carolina this season, finishing with 43 points in 47 games. He had scored two goals and one assist in seven playoff appearances this season. Now he and the 'Canes wait for the word on how long he's out.
