Soderberg heads back to his native land to finish up his hockey career and likely closes the door on his NHL career. In 597 career NHL games, the 38-year-old recorded 110 goals and 297 total points. In 45 Stanley Cup Playoff games he scored three times and added 11 assists.
The speedy winger was a bit of a suitcase, not only having a couple of stops with the Avalanche but also for the Arizona Coyotes, Boston Bruins and Chicago Blackhawks. Soderberg heads back to Malmo where he's played basically his entire Swedish career.
Last season he made $1 million on the salary cap and now Sakic has a little bit more money to work with come the summer as Colorado has some massive decisions to make when it comes to their own free agents.
