Golden Knights Captain Blames Himself for Losing to Canadiens
Vegas Golden Knights captain Mark Stone is one of the best leaders in sports and he's one hell of a team guy. It hasn't all been easy for Stone, who struggled during the team's series against the Montreal Canadiens. The Golden Knights captain took it upon himself to lay blame, and he's looking right in the mirror.
Stone met with the media after the loss and had this to say about his performance:
I got skunked this series. That can't happen. I'm the captain of this team. I'm the leader of this team. I take a lot of responsibility for what occurred
Stone wasn't able to find the scoresheet, or get much going against Montreal. After a fantastic regular season of 61 points, he failed to record a point in the six game series. And while he wasn't scoring, unfortunately for him and his teammates, he wasn't able to generate much, only managing seven shots on goal.
Stone admitted after the series, while there's been a ton of speculation, he's not injured and did not play hurt. Let's hope he and the team can move on from this and learn from their experience. The Golden Knights aren't going anywhere.
