Hurricanes Vincent Trocheck Reveals He Played Through a Sprained MCL
Nobody can ever question how tough Carolina Hurricanes forward Vincent Trocheck is. He's an absolute warrior after revealing he played Game 5 with a sprained MCL.
Trocheck admitted the injury after the series departure from the hands of the Tampa Bay Lightning and said:
It’s just the feeling that if the season was going to end, I didn’t want to be in the stands,
After a shaky start to his Canes career, Trocheck has found a home in Carolina. He ended up missing Games 3 and 4, but was able to return for Game 5, playing through the pain. Apparently it won't require surgery, but he's going to need to rehab his leg for a couple of months.
This season Trocheck recorded 43 points in 47 games and added two more goals during the nine Stanley Cup Playoff games he appeared in. The injury occurred after Trocheck collided with teammate Warren Foegele, late in the second period of Game 2.
Here's the play that could have ended Trocheck's season but instead he toughed it out for his teammates and showed his true colors:
After returning for the start of the third, Vincent Trocheck has gone back to the Canes' locker room.
