One Team to Cross Off the List for Free-Agent Dougie Hamilton

Dougie Hamilton was given permission from the Carolina Hurricanes to discuss a contract with other teams and there was a lot of chatter about the Philadelphia Flyers being extremely interested. According to reports, that's not the case at all and the Flyers won't be offering a contract to Hamilton's camp to consider.

Hamilton is currently setting himself up for a nice pay day and in a surprise move was given the OK to chat with other teams before the free-agency period begins. There's been some rumblings about a sign-and-trade with the Toronto Maple Leafs, and another team to keep an eye on is the Chicago Blackhawks. Both teams are making to make a splash this summer and the Hurricanes could get back a decent piece from either team considering Hamilton was going to walk anyways.

As for the Flyers, expect them to inquire about Seth Jones out of Columbus, Matt Dumba from the Minnesota Wild or Victor Soderstrom from the Arizona Coyotes. This according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.
