Predicting Where These 3 Underrated Free Agents Will Sign This Summer

This year's NHL free agency list has some pretty big names on it. Some of these include Dougie Hamilton, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, and Gabriel Landeskog. They will certainly receive a lot of interest from the league if they decide to test the market, as they are great talents.

Yet, sometimes depth signings can be just as beneficial for NHL teams. This is especially the case when it comes to the postseason. There are a handful of overlooked upcoming free agents who deserve a bit more attention.

These three under the radar free agents would work nicely on these teams.

Michael Bunting: Arizona Coyotes

Michael Bunting virtually came out of nowhere this season. He had primarily played in the AHL beforehand, but was phenomenal in his limited NHL action this year. In 21 games, he scored 10 goals and registered 13 points.

At 25-years-old, he has less than 80 games of experience and has played at least three professional seasons, so he is a Group 6 UFA. The Coyotes should be very aggressive and sign him because losing him for nothing would be bad. He was a rare bright spot on their roster this year, and he should be a part of their long-term plans.

Luke Glendening: Edmonton Oilers

Luke Glendening is a valuable fourth-line center, as he is spectacular at face offs. That certainly comes in handy when in the defensive zone and on the penalty kill. The Edmonton Oilers would benefit immensely by adding him.

The Oilers could use a player like Glendening to not only help them defensively, but also when it comes to his leadership. It also helps that Ken Holland has a connection with Glendening because of his days with the Red Wings.

Sean Kuraly: Columbus Blue Jackets

Sean Kuraly is another effective depth forward. He is quite versatile, as he can play either center or left wing. He may not be the most physical of bottom-six forwards, but he is fast and has a strong work ethic.

The Columbus Blue Jackets could be a team that signs him. Kuraly is from Ohio, so it would give the Blue Jackets another hometown player. Furthermore, they do need a bit of a shake-up when it comes to their fourth-line, especially if they hope to return to the postseason.
