Rumor: Boston to Sign Taylor Hall to Contract Extension

The Boston Bruins ended up getting a steal of a deal from the Buffalo Sabres for Taylor Hall and it sounds like he's going to be sticking around Boston for the foreseeable future. General manager Don Sweeney confirmed on Tuesday, there's mutual interest to work out a deal with Hall's camp.

While the Bruins didn't end up getting as far as they'd like these Stanley Cup Playoffs, as far as Hall went he was everything as advertised. From big hits, big goals and even a fight, he was mixing it up and showed some great chemistry with center David Krejci on the Bruins second line. The kicker here is Hall may have a new center next season because the Bruins may not be able to afford Krejci, who is also a free-agent after signing Hall.

Sweeney had this to say to the media on Tuesday:

In talking with (Hall and fellow Bruins forward David Krejci) at the end of the (season), and even when Taylor got here, he's expressed interest (and there's been) mutual interest to have him back... Obviously, we'll have to see where all the pieces fit together.

The 29-year-old played 16 regular season games in Boston, scoring eight goals and recording 14 points. He then scored three goals and added two assists in 11 playoff games. Hall has been a suitcase these last few years so it will good for him to finally find a home.
